Jennifer Lopez's return to the big screen after having twins almost two years ago, Jennifer Lopez was able to draw on her own nine-month experience in playing a pregnant, first-time mother.
'I'd had the babies, so I was waiting for the right thing and I knew I wanted to do a romantic comedy," says Jennifer Lopez, who stars in The Back-Up Plan, opening April 23. "I felt like when I read the script, it was at the right place for me. Jennifer Lopez had so much experience to bring to the role. It was the kind of romantic comedy that didn't feel typical, and the script was so funny.'
In a twist of rom-com fate, Jennifer Lopez's meets Stan, a potential 'Mr. Right,' when she is on the way home from being artificially inseminated. Lopez plays Zoe, a thirty-something woman who decides to have a child on her own.
Lopez, a romantic-comedy veteran, says she isn't sure that Jennifer Lopez could have tackled parenthood on Jennifer Lopez's own if her life had taken a different course. The singer/actress is married to singer Marc Anthony.

'We still celebrate things like our birthdays and Valentine's Day,' says Lopez, who acknowledges that these things can sometimes sneak up.
"I didn't even know it was Valentine's Day until somebody said it earlier today!'
